Dress (acoustic live) by PJ Harvey. This week marks the 20th anniversary of the American release of Polly Jean Harvey’s brilliant debut album, Dry. Featuring Harvey’s take-no-prisoners vocals, fierce guitars and post-feminist lyrics, Dry established Harvey as her generation’s punk-poet rock goddess.

Twenty years later, PJ Harvey continues to release some of the most original and critically acclaimed music. Her last album, Let England Shake, was named album of the year by 16 publications and in 2011 she won the coveted Mercury Prize.
